Recently Blizzard has changed its terms of service. The changes affect add-ons and paid add-ons. Basically, it forbids any add-ons that you will need to pay for and interfere with the game or other players in a negative way.

Since Zygors guide is a paid one, this change of the terms will also affect Zygors guide. Why does Blizzard disallow those guides. Well, one add-on just crossed the line several times. Carbonite had too many bot-like features. Some of the features were auto-traveling and auto-farming. I don’t have to tell you that this is against Blizzard’s terms.

Blizzard also sued another botting company for the same reason.

My friend also used this bot and leveled to level 80 in less than five days. The seventh day he found his account banned and wished he had never used it. These bots spoil the game for legitimate players. The gold price and item prices will decrease. This is because of the increased supply and equal demand.

Zygor announced in his forum, that they will take any measures possible to ensure that their guide remains legal. In case the add-on is forbidden by Blizzard, Zygor already has plenty of alternatives available.

The change in policy is not final yet. Blizzard might only try to scare away illegal methods and add-ons. Whatever the outcome of the war between botting companies and Blizzard might be, you will not have to fear. A few days ago I decided to create a new Blood Elf character. Dreading the long grind to the higher levels, I decided to buy the Zygor Leveling Guide for the Horde & see if it would really help level my character faster. Here are my impressions from the first couple of days of using Zygor.

I hadn’t found previous leveling guides to be of much use. As much as anything else, that’s because of the way you had to keep jumping in and out of the game to consult the guide. Not only was it a pain in the neck, but it disrupted the flow and pulled my head out of the game world whenever I had to consult the guide.

Zygor Guides work within World of Warcraft. What does that mean? It means that the guide information appears in a window right inside the game. The information is easier to access, and you can stay “in” the game, which makes the whole experience much smoother and more fun.

You’re also in control of the amount of information the guide gives you. You can close the Zygor Guide window completely if you just want to focus on playing. You can have a small window with the minimal amount of information, just enough to let you know what your next objective is. If you want even more information, you can switch to a large window that displays all the details about your current leveling activity. There’s even an interactive arrow that you can display on the screen, showing you the distance and direction of the next objective. You get all the information you need without ever having to look away from the game.

All that’s cool, but you’re probably wondering if the Zygor Leveling Guide accomplishes its mission of helping you level super fast. Well, when I was ready to test the guide for the first time, my brother offered to escort me with one of his characters that was several levels higher than mine. I told him what I was doing & that I would do this session on my own, following the advice in Zygor. We both started playing, and he checked in on me a few hours later. His reaction says all you need to know about how well these guides work. His first comment was, “Hey! How the #3$%^& did your guy get so big so fast? Can my guy come with yours next time?”
