Set aside some time to get to know more about your character. Every race and class on the game has their own set of unique attributes, including their own strengths and weaknesses. Be sure to familiarize yourself with these attributes, so you may better make use of your character. This means fully understanding all of the possible characters talents, and then choosing the ones that would suit you the best, rather than just grabbing them as they appear in the game based on guess work and impatience.
The talents actually interact with each other, and there is a guide especially for this in the Zygor guide, yet another reason to grab the guide.
You should obviously do everything you can to make your character survive. This seems like it would be obvious to a lot of people, but when some people become trapped and figure they are going to die anyway, they just give up. This is never the right answer as it is going to be hard to resume where you left off once you have died. So be sure to keep a mages blink or a paladins bubble, in case you get in trouble.
Try to complete all of the class quests for your character. They will offer you major developments for your player, making you the best player possible. So far, the only guide that allows yo to map out class quests is the Zygor guide, yet another reason why you should get it ASAP.
If you wrongly decide you do not need a guide to be the best player you can be, then at least don’t be afraid to look for help on forums and web pages. There is plenty of info out there on WOW because it is the most popular game in the world. There are plenty of expert players that would be willing to give you some advice on the game, in many forums across the web.
Make sure you take breaks from playing. People who are stuck on their computers playing this all of the time seem to forget that this is a game. Make sure you understand that this is a release form the real world into the virtual world, and it is not the other way around.
