When you grind, you are only getting the XP from the kills. Grinding is great if you really had a need for gold, it is one of the slowest ways to level.

Create the character as you normally would, log him out at an inn and start gaining this easy bonus. It takes roughly a week to maximise the bonus (a full level and a half), but you will need to log on the character after a week to achieve this as a game mechanic will slow down the gain after the 100% area.
